The Right vs Wrong Program!

A must read for all athletes!

It’s great to see so many athlete’s, especially youth athletes, take a strong liking to strength training to improve athleticism. However, the day’s of ‘back & biceps” for athletes rains are inferior to a tailored, holistic performance approach…

Most weeks I speak to athletes that enlighten me about their previous gym experiences. Often it’s a gym program they found on the internet or even experience from a local PT. My intention is not to bash online training or the local personal trainer, so I offer you this analogy. You wouldn’t go to a dentist for life threatening heart surgery, would you? Of course not. You’d go to the heart surgeon for heart surgery. This is why, to harness athleticism, you go to an expert. A qualified, experienced Strength & Conditioning Program.

So what’s the difference between the right vs the wrong program?

The wrong program:

From my experience, the wrong program's goals do not align with key areas you need to improve to become more athletic. Commonly, the wrong program centres around adding unnecessary mass (hypertrophy training).

This is your typically ‘bro split’ that you see most people completing at the gym. There is nothing wrong with this type of training. You will see some initial strength improvements, added muscle mass and potentially more powerful. However, it doesn’t address power (rate of force development), mobility (movement), speed development, running mechanics and even plyometrics.

Remember, hypertrophy (amongst other things) is typically the ONLY goal when it comes to the ‘wrong’ program. The consequences can actually lead to you moving poorly (lack of mobility) and becoming slower. Think of Arnold Schwarzenegger trying to play in the midfield for the Magpies…

If your program sounds like this and you’re after athletic improvement, I'd strongly consider reading below to gain an understanding of what the right program looks like for athletic development.

The right program:

Now, for what you’ve been waiting for! For athletic development you want to address power (rate of force development), mobility (movement), speed development, running mechanics and even plyometrics. A program that addresses not one, but a majority of variables that will make you faster, more explosive and ultimately more athletic is the right type of program for athletic development. A program with this approach will see you make seriously good improvements. Not to toot our own horn, but just look at some of the improvements our athletes have made. It’s seriously good.

Pretty amazing, am I right?

What if i told you there’s a few more secret variables, paired with the right program will give you the best results! When I wrote the previous sentence, in my mind it comes across as that midnight tv salesman that’s offering you the secret to weight-loss if you purchase his product for a discounted rate of $19.99. Unfortunately, the product or in our case the secret isn’t as sexy or $19.99. It’s actually a simple answer that will elevate your results. The kicker is that you probably know what I'm going to say.

It’s sleep, nutrition, hydration and well-being. A bit underwhelming, right? It’s one of those un-sexy answers but yields incredible results. To sweeten the deal I'll also throw in an ab master pro. Any takers?

Hopefully you can see my humour. Without going into all of the benefits, I hope you can appreciate how these 4 pillars have stood the test of time and continue to yield the best results for athletic performance. There’s no need to reinvent the wheel. Improving performance is quite simple, yet continues to be executed poorly. Why continue getting average results that may hold you back from achieving your goals?

Our member’s who receive this email know what it’s like to make amazing improvements in a short period of time. Say goodbye to the wrong program. For non-members it’s your turn to get real results.
